Conteúdo:
This talk will explore the features of effective academic abstracts in
English and suggest some approaches which may help when writing abstracts
in English. What makes the abstract writing distinctive from other forms of
the writing? What are the elements of a successful abstract? What
techniques can help your abstract stand out in a crowded field? What are
some of the challenges with writing abstracts and how can these be
overcome? This talk will make use of abstracts from recent research at
Queen Mary University of London as examples of best practice and there will
be plenty of time for questions. This talk should be of interest to
students and staff members at UNESP who are writing abstracts at the moment
or who are planning to write abstracts in the future.
