Além disso, existem muitos pacientes que não possuem a quantidade óssea suficiente para a colocação dos implantes em posição adequada, o que compromete o aspecto estético e funcional da reabilitação protética. Assim, o progresso das técnicas e a evolução dos biomateriais para implante ósseo têm estimulado pesquisadores a desenvolver inovações, e aprimorar os produtos já existentes.
